The winners of the 2010 edition of prestigious August Lösch Prize for academic research in the field of Regional Science are Klaus Desmet (Universidad Carlos III de Madrid) and Esteban Rossi-Hansberg (Princeton University) for their outstanding work on "Endogenous Spatial Growth."

- Fabian Rinnen, third year PhD student, has received a Doctoral Fellowship from the AXA Research Fund for his work on "Forecasting Risk: Realized Quantile Approach". Five such fellowships were awarded world-wide in the field of 'socio-economic risks'.
- Vanessa Berenguer,Ph.D. student, has received the James B. Ramsey award for the best paper in econometrics presented at the 18th Annual Symposium of the Society for Nonlinear Dynamics and Econometrics (SNDE).
