Course Description
This course provides a hands-on introduction to the use of laboratory experiments as a tool for research in economics. Topics include the study of markets (competitive markets, markets for lemons, asset market bubbles), behavior in games (mixed strategy equilibrium, information cascades), and the performance of different trading mechanisms (first- and second-price sealed bid private value auctions, ascending bid common value auctions).
Instructors:
Professor of Economics, University of Arizona. Ph. D. in Economics, Cornell University (1992). Professor Wooders’s research interests include Microeconomics, Game Theory, Experimental Economics, Sports Economics, and Industrial Organization. He has published his work in the most prestigious journals of economics, including Econometrica, American Economic Review, Journal Economic Theory, International Economic Review, Games and Economic Behavior, etc.
Professor of Economics, Universidad Carlos III de Madrid. Ph.D. in Economics, State University of New York at Stony Brook in 1991. Professor Moreno’s research interests include Microeconomics, Game Theory, Experimental Economics and Industrial Organization. He has published his research in the most prestigious economic journals, including the Journal of Economic Theory, Games and Economic Behavior, International Economic Review, Journal of Mathematical Economics, Mathematics Operations Research, etc.
